Claims:
CLAIMS

1. The invention is a dental implant of new design which consists of following parts; implant pit (1), inclined shoulder (2), side screens (3), implant body (5) and disks (7). It is developed to increase the surface area, to guide during placement in the bone, and to prevent rotation inside the bone of the screw-free dental implants used in dentistry field which are entrenched inside the bone with (press fit) platform design.

2. The dental implant of new design mentioned in the 1 st Claim;

Is characterized by the fact that the dental implant pit (1) neighbors the inclined shoulder (2),

3. The dental implant of new design mentioned in the 1 st Claim;

Is characterized by the fact that the disks (7) are located on the implant body (5) and side screens (3) connect these disks (7) together.

4. The dental implant of new design mentioned in the 1st Claim;

Is characterized by the fact that the implant pit (1) has a conical shape and index

(10) can be found in any place of the implant pit (1).

5. The denial implant of new design mentioned in the I st Claim;

Is characterized by the fact that inside the implant pit (1.), an abutment (support)

(11) for the permanent prosthesis is placed in consistence with the shape of the implant pit (1). A canal (12) is located inside this abutment (support), or it can be without canal.

6. The dental implant of new design mentioned in the 1st Claim;

Is characterized by the fact that while the disks (7) connected to the implant body (5) can have vertical section of various geometric shape (rectangular, trapezoidal, etc.), as they can align parallel to each other, they also can form screw shaped coils or have a random alignment.

7. The dental implant of new design mentioned in the 1 st Claim;

Is characterized by the fact that horizontal sections of the side screens (3) which connect the disks (7) on the implant can be of various geometric shape (rectangular, trapezoidal, etc.), can be placed in various numbers on the implant, can form any angle (acute, right, obtuse) with the disks (7) on the implant.

8. The dental implant of new design mentioned in the 1st Claim;

Is characterized by the fact that each side screen (3) has two side surfaces (4).

9. The dental implant of new design mentioned in the 1st Claim;

Is characterized by the fact that in the base of implant (1.3) one base chamber (14) can be placed and this chamber might have base screens (8) in it. Base screens (8) located in the base chamber (14) can separate it into smaller base chambers (9).

10. The dental implant of new design mentioned in the 1st Claim;

Is characterized by the fact that body chambers (6) are formed in between the disks (7) located on the implant and side surfaces (4) of side screens (3), these body chambers (6) and small base chambers (9) can be used for surface coating materials, medicine or growth factors with various properties

DESCRIPTION

This invention relates to the new dental implant design developed to increase the surface area, to guide during placement in the bone, and to prevent rotation inside the bone of the screw-free dental implants used in dentistry field which are entrenched inside the bone with (press fit) platform design.

As the technique is known; during the placement in the bone of the screw-free dental implants entrenched inside the bone with (press fit) platform design, the attachment of these platforms to the bone socket might make it hard for the implant to be placed easily on the bone socket.

Also, another disadvantage of the current technique is that the surfaces which prevent the implant from rotating under pressure are not sufficient. At the same time, when the length of these type of implants is reduced the surface area decreases and for this reason it is impossible to reduce the length of implants below a set level. For this, currently implants shorter than 5 mm do not exist.

These implants, especially the type when the implant abutment connection is such that the abutment is connected with friction force under 2°(degree) conically in the pit (cold welding), require a recovery cap placed inside the pit or a rotational force applied in order to recover the abutments from their place.

Due to small surface area that is resistant to rotational force and due to small surface area of short implants, rotational force can cause damage to the osseointegration, thus causing rotation of implant inside the bone. Also, in some cases after the implant starts functioning it might be lost as a result from the pressure load due to insufficient surface area.

Regarding the problems which the invention aims to solve; with the newly developed design it is easier to place dental implants in the bone especially for those with press fit platform design; they became more resistant to rotational forces and the surface area has increased compared to a similar implant of the same size. Therefore, it is now possible to shorten the length of implants even more.

The description of the invention includes figures which are explained below.

The newly developed dental implant is shown on the figures 1 and 2. According to this design dental implant essentially consists of 4 different parts. These parts can be arranged as the implant pit (1), inclined shoulder (2), side screens (3), implant body (5) and disks (7). The dental implant pit (1) neighbors the inclined shoulder (2), disks (7) are located on the implant body (5) and side screens (3) connect these disks (7) together.

The implant pit (1) has a conical shape and index (10) can be found in any place of the implant pit (1). This index (10) located inside the implant pit (1) can be designed as any geometric shape such as hexagon, quadrilateral. Inside the implant pit (1), an abutment (support) (1 1 ) for the permanent prosthesis is placed in consistence with the shape of the implant pit (1). A canal (12) is located inside this abutment (support), or it can be without canal.

While the disks (7) connected to the implant body (5) can have vertical section of various geometric shape (rectangular, trapezoidal, etc), as they can align parallel to each other, they also can form screw shaped coils or have a random alignment.

Horizontal sections of the side screens (3) which connect the disks (7) on the implant can be of various geometric shape (rectangular, trapezoidal, etc.), can be placed in various numbers on the implant, can form any angle (acute, right, obtuse) with the disks (7) on the implant. Each side screen (3) has two side surfaces (4). In the base of implant (13) one base chamber (14) can be placed and this chamber might have base screens (8) in it. Base screens (8) located in the base chamber (14) can separate it into smaller base chambers (9).

Body chambers (6) are formed in between the di sks (7) located on the implant and side surfaces (4) of side screens (3), these body chambers (6) and small base chambers (9) can be used for surface coating materials, medicine or growth factors with various properties.

The present invention is completely suitable for industrial applications.
