Abstract:
The present invention provides: a dental treatment device that drives a cutting tool mounted on a head part and performs a drive control capable of preventing fracture of the cutting tool; and a driving method thereof. This dental treatment device is provided with: a hand-piece (1) for holding a cutting tool (5) on a head part (2); a drive unit for driving the cutting tool (5) held on the head part (2); and a control unit (11) for controlling the drive unit according to a drive sequence. The drive sequence includes: at least one forward rotation drive in which the cutting tool (5) is rotated in the cutting direction for cutting an object to be cut; and at least one reverse rotation drive in which the cutting tool (5) is rotated in the non-cutting direction. When the driving unit is controlled in accordance with the driving sequence, the accumulated rotation amount, in which the rotation amount of the electrostatic drive and the rotation amount of the reverse rotation drive are accumulated, does not exceed the set value at any time.
