Abstract:
In order to prevent mouth odor by inhibiting the production of hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan in the saliva, it is desirable to find a substance that has an antibacterial effect, in particular, on Fusobacterium nucleatum and Porphyromonas gingivalis and a metabolic inhibitory effect on Fusobacterium nucleatum and Porphyromonas gingivalis. Further, it is desirable that such a substance having an effect of controlling mouth odor causes no safety issues when taken into the body. A composition for oral cavity which comprises as the active ingredient an extract of the leaves, stems or roots of Angelica keiskei. As the extract of Angelica keiskei leaves, an exudate from the leaves of Angelica keiskei can be used.
