Abstract:
A highly excellent deodorizing agent comprising a mixture in a given proportion of zeolite, silica, and quartz diorite-porphyrite which have respective given particle sizes. It has a maximized synergistic deodorizing function. It not only is highly effective in removing the odors of trimethylamine, methyl mercaptan, and ammonia to a degree which has not been attained so far but also can completely remove the odor of, in particular, hydrogen sulfide in a short time. Also provided is a deodorizing material comprising the deodorizing agent. The deodorizing agent is characterized by being obtained by mixing powdery zeolite processed so as to have a particle diameter of 1 µm or smaller, powdery silica processed so as to have a particle diameter of 1 µm or smaller, and powdery quartz diorite-porphyrite processed so as to have a particle diameter of 1 µm or smaller, the amount of the mixture of the powdery zeolite and the powdery silica being 70-90 wt.% and the amount of the powdery quartz diorite-porphyrite being 10-30 wt.%, and mixing the resultant powder mixture with an aqueous emulsion with stirring.
