Abstract:
A deoxidizer for boilers characterized by containing a starch derivative prepared by introducing a sulfurous or nitrogenous group in an amount of 0.01 to 5 wt. % (in terms of S or N) into a starch with a dextrose equivalent of at least 1 %; and a method of removing dissolved oxygen from boiler water characterized by adding said deoxidizer to a boiler water system.
