Abstract:
A departure assistance method according to the present disclosure includes the following steps. A feature point recognizing step acquires feature points around a vehicle and a first inferring step infers the positional relationship between the current position of the vehicle and an entry area on the basis of the feature points and setting information indicating the positional relationship between the position of the entry area and feature points existing around the entry area. A controlling step moves the vehicle to the entry area on the basis of the positional relationship and a storing step stores, in the setting information, an entry start position of the vehicle at which the vehicle started to move into the entry area. A second inferring step infers the positional relationship between the current position of the vehicle and a departure area on the basis of the feature points, treating the entry start position stored in the setting information as the departure area from which to depart. Additionally, the controlling step moves the vehicle to the departure area on the basis of the positional relationship.
