Abstract:
This imaging device is provided with: a light transmitting unit (1) which is configured from multiple sections (1AB) that include diffracting regions (1D1, 1D2) for diffracting incident light, transparent regions (1CLR) for transmitting incident light without diffraction, and polarizing regions (1P1, 1P2) arranged so as to overlap with at least a part of the diffracting regions (1D1, 1D2); an imaging element comprising multiple unit elements arrayed in two dimensions on an imaging surface, each unit element containing a first photosensitive cell, a second photosensitive cell, and a polarizing filter arranged in a position facing the first photosensitive cell; and an image forming unit configured to form, on the imaging surface, an image consisting of light transmitted through the transparent regions and an image consisting of light transmitted through the diffracting regions.
