Abstract:
A depth image engine and a depth image calculation method. The depth image engine comprises: a buffer (705) for receiving a data stream of a first image; an image rotator (702) for executing a rotation operation to generate a second image when the buffer (705) completes receiving data of the first entire image; and a depth value calculator (703) for receiving the second image and a reference image for performing matching computation to generate a depth image. According to the depth image engine and the depth image calculation method, spot image data is rotated first, then a depth value is calculated. Because the rotated spot image can match a reference image well, the problem of incorrect depth image calculation caused by different placement positions or data reading methods of an image sensor is solved so that the corresponding depth camera can carry out data calculation and play a role when being integrated into a mobile terminal.
