Abstract:
A designated driver management system based on a biometric identification technology. The system recognizes and reads, by means of a driver identity verification unit (100), a document held by a driver and collects biometric information of the driver, verifies the consistency between the driver and the certificate on site, and compares the biometric information of the driver with biometric information corresponding to identity information of an authorized driver to complete identity verification of a designated driver, wherein the identity verification result is linked to a vehicle control unit (200) to determine whether a vehicle (600) can be started. According to the system, the identity of the driver can be bound to the driving authority of a commercial vehicle (600), and the starting authority of the vehicle (600) is controlled in a linkage mode and/or a safety warning is formed for an illegal driver according to an identity verification result of the designated driver, so that the traffic safety of commercial vehicles (600) such as "highway passenger and tourist transportation vehicles, vehicles carrying dangerous chemicals, freight vehicles and school buses" is ensured from the perspective of the driver.
