Abstract:
A desktop tape dispenser and the operating method thereof are disclosed. The desktop
tape dispenser of the present invention comprises a rotation axis, a tape length-adjusting
unit and a stopping unit. The rotation axis is disposed on the bottom near the central
part of the body. The tape length-adjusting unit is disposed near the front end
of the body and may be used to set the cutting length of the tape. The stopping unit
is disposed inside the body. The wheel unit of the stopping unit protrudes out
of the body and is disposed at a location higher than that of the rotation axis.
A cutter is provided near the front end of the body. A returning unit is disposed
under the cutter. In use, first, a user selects a cutting length. The user pulls
out the tape, runs it under the rotation axis and places it on the wheel unit of the
stopping unit. In every application after the length is set, when the selected
tape length is reached, the stopping unit stops the tape; now, the user may cut
the tape by pulling it downwards on the cutter, and then the returning unit may
return the stopping unit to its previous position. In this way, every piece of
tape dispensed from the dispenser may have the same length so as to reach the goals
of ease of use and economy.
