Claims 1. A Stationery holder that attaches and detaches to the cover of a notebook, ring binder or similar which can be securely fixed against the cover and is hinged at the edge to allow the book and stationery holder to be side by side when laid on a desk whilst the stationery holder is still attached to the cover. |
The invention relates to a stationery holder that can attach and detach to the cover of a book, ring binder or similar. When drawing or writing it is often useful to be able to change the type of pencil or pen or to use another type of equipment that the user would find useful for their current needs.
The stationery holder provides the storage capacity for a range of drawing/writing equipment.
The stationery holder is detachable so can be attached to another book or ring binder if the user requires.
The stationery holder can be fixed so it stays flat against the cover.
The Stationery holder is hinged at the edge to allow the book and stationery holder to be side by side when laid on a desk whilst the stationery holder is still attached to the cover. These features give this invention the usefulness and speed to be used in a variety of situations, by keeping the stationery holder attached to the cover through the hinge mechanism it means the user can write on a desk or write when standing and the stationery holder transforms very quickly to meet the requirements of the users situation.
The invention will now be described solely by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Key for drawings
1 - Storage compartments
2 - Rigid material which comprises the back of the stationery holder
3 - Clip
4 - Hinge connection
5 - Fastening mechanism
6 - Counterpart to fasteners
7 - Generic book cover - for explanation purposes only not part of invention
8 - Generic stationery - for explanation purposes only not part of invention
Figure 1 shows the front of the stationery holder, Figure 2 shows the back of the stationery holder Figure 3 shows the plan of the stationery holder
Figure 4 shows an axonometric of the stationery holder, the clip is connected to the back (part 2) with a hinge connection (part 4). The clip (part 3) can slide on to the cover of the notebook (part 7).
Figure 5 shows the stationery holder being rotated about the hinge whilst part 2 is still attached to the notebook. When the back (part 2) is pushed against the clip (part 3) the fastener (part 5) connects to the counterpart of the fastener (part 6) and the stationery holder is held in place flat against the notebook cover (part 7).
Figure 6 shows the stationery holder fixed flat against the cover of the notebook (part 7) the stationery equipment (part 8) can be pushed into the compartments (part 1) and are securely held in place.
Figure 7 shows the stationery holder being unfixed against the notebook cover by pulling the main body (parts 1 and 2) of the stationery holder to release the fastener (part 5) from the counterpart of the fastener (part 6) The stationery holder can then be rotated about the hinge (part 4) whilst the clip (part 3) is still attached to the notebook.
Figure 8 shows the notebook (part 7) and the stationery holder being laid flat against a surface, the clip (Part 3) is still attached to the notebook (part 7)and stationery (part 8) can be removed from the compartments (part 1) and writing / drawing can be undertaken.
The drawings are an example of one embodiment of the invention. The stationery holder can also be attached to the notebook cover using other attachable and detachable fastening means. The stationery holder can be fixed flat against the notebook cover using other methods which would allow the stationery holder to be unfixed and rotated about the hinge whilst still attached to the notebook. The storage compartments can either be rigid, semi rigid, or flexible material as long as they securely store stationery.
