Abstract:
This detachable insert type cutting tool is provided with a cutting insert and a holder which holds the cutting insert. Insert mounting seats whereon the cutting insert is mounted, as well as an upper jaw section and a lower jaw section which hold the cutting insert there between, are provided in the holder. One of the insert mounting seats is provided on the lower surface of the upper jaw section, and the other insert mounting seat is provided on the upper surface of the lower jaw section. Two convex curved outside surfaces are provided, one on one side of the upper jaw section, as seen from the tip side thereof, and the other on one side of the lower jaw section, as seen from the tip side thereof. Two concave curved inside surfaces are provided, one on the other side of the upper jaw section, and the other on the other side of the lower jaw section. In a state where the cutting insert is fixed to the insert mounting seats, the concave curved inside surface of the upper jaw section is disposed at a position radially more outwardly recessed than an arc surface which extends along the concave curved inside surface of the lower jaw section.
