Title:
DETECTION ALGORITHM FOR TOUCHSCREEN MOBILE PHONE INFRARED PROXIMITY SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/166803
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided in the present invention is a detection algorithm for a touchscreen mobile phone. The working principle of the algorithm is such that, during the course of a call, the size value of an energy received by an infrared proximity sensor is measured in real time, the trend is used as a basis for determining if an approaching motion or a distancing motion is present, and approaching and distancing threshold values are calibrated in real time during the call, thus controlling screen-off and screen-on of the mobile phone. The algorithm solves the impacts on infrared proximity detection when the mobile phone is in a call due to component consistency and structural consistency of the mobile phone and to other external interference factors, thus allowing an algorithm system to be always consistent when determining the approaching motion and the distancing motion for a same object, and solves the problem that an IR LED emission transistor cannot be used normally due to aging and minute changes caused by being dropped when used by a user; the algorithm has a wide applicability and obviates the need for configuration of unique threshold values for each handheld device.
