Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to suppress, better than a conventional method, an increase of errors contained in a monitored value which is associated with a change in the relative positions of an optical fiber, a reflector, and a photodetector. Provided is a detection apparatus (1) that detects Rayleigh scattered light leaking from a side surface of an optical fiber (OF), the detection apparatus (1) comprising: a photodiode (11a) that has a light-receiving surface (11a1); and a base plate (12) that has an upper surface (12a) facing the light-receiving surface (11a1) with the optical fiber (OF) therebetween, wherein the upper surface (12a) of the base plate (12) is flat.
