A detection apparatus according to an aspect of the present invention detects the feature of a fluid mixture containing different kinds of materials between which a difference in thermal property is within a predetermined range, the detection apparatus being provided with: one or a plurality of heating units which heat the fluid mixture; a plurality of temperature detecting units which detect the temperature of the heated fluid mixture; a flow rate calculating unit which includes the heating unit and at least some of the plurality of temperature detecting units, and which calculates the flow rate of the fluid mixture by using an output from said at least some of the plurality of temperature detecting units; a correspondence relationship storing unit which stores a correspondence relationship between the output from the temperature detecting unit at a predetermined flow rate and a mixing ratio of the materials of the fluid mixture; and a mixing ratio calculating unit which calculates the mixing ratio of the materials of the fluid mixture on the basis of the output from the temperature detecting unit and the correspondence relationship.
