A detection device (10) and a detection method for the abnormality detection of a light-emitting panel (20), the detection device (10) comprising a first substrate (11), a detection metal layer disposed on the first substrate (11), and a detection unit (13), wherein the detection metal layer comprises a plurality of electrode blocks (12) that are spaced apart, and the detection unit (13) is connected to the electrode blocks (12) for use in detecting capacitance signals sent by each of the electrode blocks (12).
