Abstract:
Provided is a detection device that enables, with a simple method and with high accuracy, detection of the particle size distribution or the number of particles contained in a particle group to be observed. The detection device is for detecting the overall state of particles which were transferred one by one in a flow path (40), the detection device being provided with: an input unit (10X) for acquiring sensor values of an image sensor (20) that continuously images, temporally, a prescribed region of the flow path (40); and a calculation unit (10Y) that estimates the number of particles or the particle size distribution of particles contained in the transferred particle group, on the basis of the temporal change of the sensor value distribution of the image sensor (20) in the width direction of the flow path (40).
