Abstract:
In order to detect the fluorescence and phosphorescence of various paper sheets, this fluorescence/phosphorescence detection device is configured with: a light source which emits light towards a paper sheet conveyed along a conveyance path; a light receiving unit which receives light emitted from the paper sheet; a storage unit in which a plurality of types of measurement modes are conserved; a measurement mode selection unit which selects a measurement mode according to the type of the paper sheet; a light source control unit which controls the light emission intensity and a light emission time of the light source in the measurement mode selected by the measurement mode selection unit; and a data acquisition unit which acquires, from the light receiving unit, at least any one among fluorescence data obtained by measuring the fluorescence and phosphorescence data obtained by measuring the phosphorescence in the measurement mode selected by the measurement selection unit. In each measurement mode, the light emission intensity and the light emission time of the light emitted from the light source, a timing and a measurement time at which the light reception unit measures the fluorescence, and a timing and a measurement time at which the light receiving unit measures the phosphorescence are set.
