Title:
DETECTION DEVICE AND MUTUAL PERCEPTION SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/134527
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a device which can make pedestrians aware of approaching vehicles. A vehicle mounted device (2), containing an IC tag (9), is positioned in cars or other vehicles. A detection device (1), containing an internal RFID reader module (4), is carried by pedestrians. If the RFID reader module (4) recognises the presence of an IC tag (9), a processor (6) judges that a vehicle is approaching the pedestrian and sends a warning signal to a mobile telephone or similar through a communication unit (7). The mobile telephone then informs the user of the approaching vehicle through a ringtone or vibration, thus preventing collisions between pedestrians and vehicles. Furthermore, due to the use of an IC tag in the vehicle mounted device (2) this system is inexpensive and easy to popularise.
