Abstract:

The generation of false alarms is suppressed by distinguishing between smoke and water vapor without performing threshold training. A detector (10) is provided with a first sensor (111), a second sensor (112), a processing unit (12) and an alarm unit (13). The processing unit (12) assesses whether or not prescribed conditions relating to the concentration of smoke measured by the first sensor (111) and the concentration of carbon monoxide measured by the second sensor (112) are satisfied. On the basis of the result of an assessment of switching conditions defined in relation to the smoke concentration, the processing unit (12) selects as prescribed conditions for assessment either first conditions defined for only one of the smoke concentration and the carbon monoxide concentration, and second conditions defined for both the smoke concentration and the carbon monoxide concentration.
