The present application discloses a device access control method and apparatus for the Internet of things, wherein the method comprises: when a relay service device of the Internet of things receives a device connection request from a user equipment, UE, determining, by the relay service device, an access permission of the UE to devices in the Internet of things after the UE passes identity authentication; determining, by the relay service device, according to the access permission and related information of a device requested to be connected by the UE, whether to permit the UE to access the device requested to be connected; and performing a corresponding access control operation according to a determining result, wherein the related information includes a privacy level of the device and a current usage status of the device. By the technical solutions disclosed by the application, the device connection speed may be effectively improved, the device connection stability may be enhanced, and the data security may be ensured.
