Abstract:
A device for applying paste to a paper web (PW) for forming tip paper of a filter cigarette, comprising a take-out roller (42) for taking out the paste from a paste pod (40), a transfer roller (50) coming into rolling contact with the take-out roller (42) and having, in its outer circumferential surface, a groove pattern (GP) for receiving the paste from the take-out roller (42), and a pressing roller (66) for pressing the paper web (PW) against the transfer roller (50). The outer circumferential surface of the pressing roller (66) is constructed from an elastically deformable outer shell (106) and, when the pressing roller (66) is pressed against the transfer roller (50) through the paper web (PW), the outer shell (106) and the paper web (PW) enter into the groove pattern (GP) of the transfer roller (50), causing the paste in the groove pattern (GP) to be applied to the paper web (PW).
