Description:
DEVICE AT A BUILDING BLOCK SYSTEM The present invention concerns an apparatus for building block systems including rectangular building blocks of concrete or similar material which are arranged to be coupled together in a row to other building blocks thus forming a wall using a coupling mechanism which is formed by extensions and depressions along the edges of adjoining blocks on the individual building blocks.

When building a house or other constructions with a number of walls composed of building blocks joined together there is the problem of coupling the building blocks together effectively so that there are no spaces between the building blocks.

This is already known concerning building block systems through for instance DE, C1, 846,453 which does not make possible construction of load bearing beams or construction without having to attach the building blocks to each other with cement or other gluing substance.

It is further already known through CH, A, 377,083, GB, A, 2,152,968, DK, C, 29573 and FR, Al, 2,463,840 that building elements can be shaped to be coupled together to form a wall. A significant disadvantage here is that there is no effective transverse locking. The conical coupling elements can therefore not be coupled together effectively so that they can withstand strong forces.

The main purpose of the present invention is therefore in the first place to solve the said problems concerning coupling the building blocks.

The said goal is achieved through an apparatus according to the present invention which is mainly characterised by the system's including building blocks of at least two types. The first type of building block has coupling parts in the form of paired extensions and paired complementary depressions along the sides of the blocks. The second type of building block has extensions along only one side of the block while the other block sides have depressions so that one side of the building block has an opening that is shaped to accept pairwise coupling columns extending from building blocks coupled together in rows.

Building blocks with U-shaped cross sections and extensions at the openings extending along a part of the block are arranged alternately right side up and upside down to be coupled together forming a chain- like longitudinal building block beam.

An apparatus for building block systems according to the invention is also appropriate for building other types of walls. For example it is appropriate for building sound barriers along the sides of roads or other walls, for instance for gardens or similar layouts and also for toys. For simplicity in the following the invention is exemplified only in connection with building houses.

The invention is described in the following as a preferred embodiment of an apparatus for building block systems according to the invention with reference to the attached figures in which Fig 1 shows in perspective a pair of walls meeting each other, Fig 2 shows examples of different building blocks that can be included in the invention, Fig 3 shows a perspective view of a corner of a wall seen side on Fig 4 shows a further embodiment of a corner, Fig 5-7 show the different building elements in detail, Fig 8 shows a corner seen from the inside, Fig 9 shows another corner seen from inside and Fig 10 shows the said corner from the outside.

An apparatus 1 for building block systems according to the present invention including rectangular building blocks 2, 21, 2 , 23 of concrete or other similar appropriate material and which through couples 3, 4, 5, 6 is arranged to be coupled together in rows with additional building blocks to form a wall 7 whereby the couples 3-6 are formed of extensions 3, 6 and depressions 4, 5 along the sides of the blocks 8, 9 10, 11 that neighbour each other on individual building blocks 2-2 including a special shape of the side of the building blocks. In particular one side of the building block 2 has at least one opening 13 which is shaped to receive external coupling columns 14 pairwise from building blocks 2-23 coupled in rows.

The opening 13 is terminated in its extension 15 across the building block by a coupling 4 extending along the length 16 of the said building block. The said openings 13 are located on the undersides of the respective building blocks.

Included in the system are building blocks 2-23 of at least two different types. Of these one type of building block 2 has couples in the form of pairwise extending parts 3, 6 and pairwise complementary depressions 4, 5 along the sides of the blocks neighbouring each other along individual building blocks. Another type of building block 21 has a couple in the form of an extension 20 along only one side of the building block while the other sides of the block have depressions 17, 18, 19 for coupling them.

The coupling columns 14 formed by the building blocks 2-23 are appropriately equally long B as seen along the length 16 building block whereby the whole opening 13 on each respective attachable building block 2-2 is filled up by pairwise coupling columns 13 in the coupled position K as seen along the length L of the opening.

The said building blocks 2-23, which can be straight or angled 23 for forming a corner, appropriately have an internal volume 21 for insertion of thermal insulation material inside the surrounding shell 22 the thickness of which is appropriately variable between 10 and 20 mm.

Thus in the illustrated example the building blocks 2-23 with U-shaped cross-sections are alternately laid right side up and upside down to form a chain-like long building block beam 1,11111. Here the coupling column extensions 14 are accepted pairwise or individually in appropriate openings 13 in the coupled building blocks 2-23.

The upper side and the underside of the thus formed building block beam I, 11, III can have different configurations. For example, one side of a beam can have a trough 23 in the middle while the adjacent side of a coupled middle strip has an accepting central strip (not shown) in the said trough 23 formed by the extending couples 6 of the respective blocks.

To make it possible to stack the building blocks on the ground or in order to support a plane forming a roof one side 12 of a type of building block 22 has a smooth surface.

The invention can be understood from the above description and the exemplification shown in the drawings while it is not restricted to the exemplification chosen but can be varied within the frame of the patent claims without extending the limits of the invention.
