Abstract:
A device A for bacterial examination whereby a bacterium is cultured in a liquid culture medium a in a sample container s and the proliferation amount of the cultured bacterium is measured, said device A for bacterial examination being characterized by being provided with a single stirring/flocculation mechanism 1 that selectively performs stirring of the liquid culture medium a and flocculation of the bacterium in the liquid culture medium a, and a measurement mechanism 3 that measures the concentration of the bacterium in the liquid culture medium a. The stirring/flocculation mechanism 1 preferably comprises: a holding means 11 that holds the sample container s in such a manner that the sample container s can be inclined; a first rotation means 12 that allows the holding means 11 to autorotate; a second rotation means 13 that allows the holding means 11 to revolve around a vertical axis; and a driving means 14 that drives the first rotation means 12 and the second rotation means 13.
