Abstract:
Disclosed is a device for casting a base (22) for a tooth prosthesis or replacing a prosthesis base that is made of wax and is provided in the form of a working model (20) by a corresponding plastic prosthesis base. Said device comprises two mold parts (1 and 2) and a fixing means. Said fixing means allows the two mold parts (1 and 2) to be positioned and fixed in alignment with and at a distance from each other such that an excess quantity of the plastic that is utilized can be extruded and removed without difficulty when casting the prosthesis base without the extruded plastic being able to influence the distance between the mold parts (1 and 2). Prostheses that are produced using the inventive device have no increased bite height such that there is no need to grind off the biting surfaces of the artificial teeth on the finished prosthesis in order to correct such an increased bite height.
