Description:
DEVICE FOR CATCHING TINY PARTICLES GENERATED WHEN DRILLING HOLES The object of the invention is a device for catching minute particles of material resulting from operations of hole drilling in room walls.

During drilling operations in walls of apartments, offices and other rooms small particles of plaster, brick or concrete drop onto floors fouling it in a few meter radius.

There are no known design solutions of any devices which would prevent falling of particles of waste material generated during drilling of holes in room walls.

The catch device of this invention has a form of multi-wall shell open to one side, with one side wall having at least one strip of sticking substance, preferably covered with a piece of paper, located favourably along the upper edge of said wall at the inlet of particle material created by drilling of holes in room walls. Other possibility is that one of the walls of the catch device is coated with a layer of sticking substance and then covered with a piece of paper. One preferred form of catch device is that of pyramid truncated either parallel or obliquely to its base. Another favourable execution of the catch-device shell is a half-cylinder cut either parallel or obliquely to its base.

Multi-wall shell form of the catch device enables its folding along shell edge for easy storage, handling and transport.

Besides, its simple design pennits its making in average workshop conditions, while making it of paper makes the product environmentally fi-iendly.

The object of the invention is presented as example executions on the enclosed drawing, where Fig. 1 is a side view of the catch device in form of pyramid truncated parallel to its base; Fig. 2 is a top view of the same catch device ; Fig. 3 is a cross section through wall of the same catch device along A-. line ; Fig. 4 is a perspective view of catch device in form of pyramid truncated obliquely to its base; Fig. 5 shows the wall of catch device presented in Fig. 4; Fig. 6 shows the same wall in vertical cross section along the B-B line; Fig. 7 shows the catch device in the shape of half- cylinder cut parallel to its base; Fig. 8 is the top view of the same catch device ; Fig. 9 is a perspective view of catch device in form of open-top prism; Fig. 10 is a side view of catch device stuck to wall while a hole is being drilled in it; Fig. 1 I is a front view of the same catch device.

The catch device according to the invention is in form in multi-walled shell 1,2,3 and 4, with one side open, one of the walls having one strip of gluing substance 5 covered with a piece of paper 6, said strip situated preferably along the top edge of said wall at inlet of particles of material 7 created by drilling of hole 8 in the wall 9 of a building.

The catch device shown in Figs. 1-3 has pyramid form with open quadrilateral base 10 turned upwards. A layer of sticking substance 5, covered with a strip of paper 6, is applied on one of its triangular walls. The catch device shown in Figs. 4-6 has a form of regular pyramid with open

base 13 turned upwards and with a layer of sticking substance 5 applied on one of its walls 14 and covered with a strip of paper 6. The catch device shown in Figs. 7 and 8 has a form of half cylinder open at one end, with a layer of sticking substance 5 applied on its flat wall 15 along its upper edge 16 and covered with a strip of paper 6. In still other execution, the catch device, shown in Fig. 9, has a form of regular prism open at one end with a layer of sticking substance 5, covered with a strip of paper 6, applied on one of its walls 17 along its upper edge.

Catch device in accordance with the invention may be made of paper in form of shell of any shape with one wall open to enable particles of plaster or brick from hole drilling fall into it.

Prior to drilling of hole 8 in wall 9, slip of paper 6, protecting the sticking substance 5 against drying is to be removed and the catch device is to be stuck to the wall 9 below the hole 8 to be drilled. Then, as the hole 8 is being drilled, tiny particles of plaster or brick fall directly into the catch device which is then to be removed together with the caught waste material.
