A device control method, comprising: obtaining a first syntax library for controlling a device when receiving an update instruction (S202); updating the first syntax library to obtain a second syntax library, the second syntax library supporting identification of a voice instruction for a device to be controlled (S204); identifying, when receiving voice information, a target voice instruction corresponding to the voice information by means of the second syntax library (S206); and controlling the device to be controlled according to the target voice instruction (S208). A device control apparatus, comprising: an acquisition unit (61), an updating unit (63), an identification unit (65), and a control unit (67).
