Abstract:
At the time of starting an internal combustion engine, the gasification or atomization of a first explosion fuel is promoted so that the emission of HC may be suppressed. The internal combustion engine comprises a fuel injection valve for injecting the fuel into an intake port, and an exhaust valve which can be stopped in a closed state for each cylinder. In case a cylinder before the first explosion is at an exhaust stroke, the exhaust valve of that cylinder is stopped in the closed state. The first explosion fuel is injected into the fuel injection valve of the cylinder, which is stopped in the exhaust stroke while the exhaust valve being closed, so that the injection timing may precede or overlap the opening timing of an intake valve.
