Abstract:
The present invention is a power control device (100) for controlling pulse electric discharge produced in a machining gap in an electric discharge machine, wherein the power control device comprises: a voltage level detection device (4) that detects the voltage level of the electric discharge voltage produced in the machining gap; a voltage level comparator (5) that compares the voltage level and a voltage level reference value and outputting the result of the comparison; and an evaluation unit (7) that, on the basis of the comparison result, evaluates whether or not a electric discharge pulse is abnormal on the basis of a designated evaluation method from among a plurality of evaluation methods. The determination method can be designated during machining.
