Abstract:
Provided are a variator (20) and a transmission controller (12). In this variator for an engine vehicle, the transmission controller (12) is provided with an outage return control unit (FIG. 4) which, when a power source is reset after an outage during travel, performs a process for setting a target through gear-change ratio (vRATIO0) and a destination through gear-change ratio (vDRATIO) to the lowest gear-change ratio by performing initialization following the outage, and returns the actual through gear-change ratio (vRATIO) of the variator (20) to a gear-change ratio for transitioning to normal control. When the power source is reset after an outage during travel, the outage return control unit (FIG. 4) causes the speed at which the target through gear-change ratio (vRATIO0) changes from the lowest gear-change ratio to the destination through gear-change ratio (vDRATIO) to be greater than the speed at which the target gear-change ratio changes during normal control, until a timing at which the destination through gear-change ratio (vDRATIO) deviates from the lowest gear-change ratio.
