Abstract:
Disclosed is a device that is for cooling a vehicle battery and that, when cooling a vehicle battery by sending cooling air from a cooling fan through a duct to a battery case that houses a battery that generates a high voltage, protects the duct from contact with other vehicle-mounted components, and enables the effective use of space in the vicinity of the duct. The device for cooling a vehicle battery contains: the battery case that houses the high-voltage-generating battery and that is disposed within a space at the rear of the vehicle and sandwiched between a left-right pair of side panels; the cooling fan that sends cooling air to the aforementioned battery case and that is disposed at a position that overlaps the aforementioned battery case in the vertical direction of the vehicle; and the duct that is disposed within the space sandwiched between the aforementioned side panels and the aforementioned battery case in the widthwise direction of the vehicle and that interconnects the aforementioned cooling fan and the aforementioned battery case; and the aforementioned duct is affixed to the aforementioned battery case with a bracket therebetween, the aforementioned bracket is formed having an inner space having a U-shaped cross section, and the aforementioned duct is disposed therein.
