Title:
DEVICE FOR DESTROYING TIRES WITH METALLIC CORD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1997/044171
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for destroying tires with a metallic cord, wherein said device comprises the following members: a body containing an axially symmetrical protection chamber; a system for maintaining the tire to be destroyed which is located within the protection chamber during the destruction process; and a pulse system acting on the tire to be destroyed. This device ensures effective separation of the rubber from the metallic cord during the destruction of various-sized complete tires. This device also provides conditions where the rubber is frangible at temperatures appreciably higher than 0 C and prevents the chemical destruction of said rubber. To this end, the device uses as a pulse system acting on the tire to be destroyed one or more sources of electromagnetic coherent pulse radiation (laser). The protection chamber is also fitted with one or more systems for feeding and draining a working fluid. This invention also provides a system for stretching the tires to be destroyed.
