Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for calculating with high precision the multi-turn absolute rotation angle of a rotating shaft of a motor connected to the output shaft of the motor. The rotation angle detection device in the present invention is characterized in that the relationship θn = (-(m±1)/m)n-1 × θ1 is satisfied, where θ1 is the rotation angle of a rotating shaft of a motor, and θn is the rotation angle of an nth rotating shaft. In the rotation angle detection device as an example of a mechanism for satisfying this relationship, a gear mechanism is formed in which a gear having m ± 1 gear teeth is meshed with a gear having m gear teeth between adjacent rotating shafts from a first rotating shaft to the nth rotating shaft. The multi-turn angle of rotation of the first rotating shaft is developed from the detection value p1 for the first rotating shaft, which is the rotation angle of the first rotating shaft, and R0 × m0 + R1 × m1 + … Rn-2 × mn-2 which corresponds to the number of rotations of the first rotating shaft, the coefficients R0 through Rn-2 are determined on the basis of the detection value from the angle detector for each shaft, and the multi-turn rotation angle for the first rotating shaft is calculated. The detection error generated by the angle detector of the second and subsequent rotating shafts can be effectively suppressed, and high-precision multi-turn rotation angles can be calculated.
