Field of Invention This invention related to a device for digitally and electrically opening shelf (or shelves) of a filing cabinet.

Background of invention

Employees of both governmental and non-governmental offices frequently find difficulty in storing and searching for documents appropriately, safely and quickly because the names of the documents are manually stored in the form of successive alphabets or numbers in current documents filing system.

Owing to the difficulty, there emerged an idea of providing a device for quick, safe and appropriate search of or trace the documents stored in a filing cabinet or the like. The device is digitally and electrically controlled by computer of such a configuration so that it is connected to a minicomputer or controlled logic control (PLC) provided on a filing cabinet for receiving digital instruction from the computer. There have been inputted into the computer necessary data related to the documents for the ease of finding or tracing the latter appropriately and promptly. The instructions sent by computer through cables, bluetooth or wifi to the minicomputer or PLC are those to open the documents shelf using the device of this invention, i.e., a device for digitally and electrically opening shelf (or shelves) of a filing cabinet of this invention.

US patent no. 3,767,280 disclosed a locking system on a furniture shelf, i.e., a filing cabinet equipped with a locking device in the form of a bar component that is rotatably moved and locking bars that can be vertically moved along the sides of the shelf having locking protrusions on them that can engage with brackets provided on the shelf. The rotatable bar component engages with locking bar and moves it upward and downward. This kind of locking system relies on a locking center lying above the filing cabinet and is manually operated. This locking system is impractical when applied on current filing system as it is manually operated.

Summary of invention This invention, i,e., a device for digitally and electrically opening shelf (or shelves) of a filing cabinet, is intended to cope with the problem found in this field of technology such as inappropriate, unsafe and slow search of desired documents stored in document shelf of a filing cabinet. Using this device, documents stored in a filing cabinet or the like can be traced quickly, safely and appropriately. Lamp and alarm audio are also disposed in each filing cabinet to indicate location of the document sought.

Documents shelf of a filing cabinet is configured in such a manner so that no one can open it in the absence of a keyword, user's identification number (UIN) or finger print. The document shelf is also secured by a registration system to record name of person seeking the document, name of the document sought, and date as well as time the document was sought. This mechanism is aimed at reminding the person that has opened the filing cabinet account for what he or she has done and prevent the theft of document or secret dat preserved in it. This registration system can prevent as well the user from opening documents other than the specified one ( s) . Device for digitally and electrically opening a shelf or shelves of a filing cabinet according to this invention comprises an L-shaped hook attached on the rear of the filing cabinet; an axis where supporting wheels are disposed on its sides to keep the axis held fixedly between rear side of the shelf in which the documents are stored and rear wall of the filing cabinet, and on the end of the axis there is disposed a wheel which will move inside or hooked by the hook when the document shelf is in locking position and released from the hook when the document shelf is in opening position; a copper wire winding; and a spring to automatically push the document shelf when the axis is attracted upward by magnetic field generated by the copper wire winding. Features, advantages and embodiment of this invention are disclosed in detail below through drawings of invention.

Detailed description of invention

One embodiment of this invention will be disclosed below based on drawings of invention.

Figure 1 shows a filing cabinet (1) with four document shelves (2) generally used for filing official documents in government as well as non-government offices, hospitals, banks etc. In this embodiment, the filing cabinet (1) consists of four (4) documents shelves (2) due to limited height of the users. However, this does mean that filing cabinet in this invention has only four document shelves . Filing cabinet (1) is equipped with lamp and alarm audio to indicate location of the document sought in the filing cabinet. Minicomputer or PLC (8) is disposed as well in each filing cabinet (1) to receive instruction from computer (6) . An indicator lamp (5) is disposed as well in the filing cabinet. This lamp will light if minicomputer (8) has been ready to receive instruction from computer (6) .

The task of computer (6) used in the embodiment of this invention is to store document data in filing cabinet (1) , to record information as to the names of the user and document taken from, the date and time the document was taken from document shelves (2) of the filing cabinet (1) , to be linked to finger print device (7) to secure the document from being opened by the incompetent person, to instruct the minicomputer or PLC in filing cabinet (1) to light lamp 3 and generate alarm audio (4) if the sought document lies in the intended document shelf (2) of the filing cabinet (1) , and to instruct minicomputer or PLC (8) to distribute AC or direct electric current into copper wire winding (solenoid, 10) to generate magnetic field to move axis (12) that can move upward in order to release wheel (14) from hook (15) .

The instructions are sent by computer (6) through cables, Jbluetooth or wifi to the minicomputer or PLC (8) . Cable (9) connected to computer (6) will transmit the electric current to copper wire winding (10) disposed on device for digitally and electrically opening document shelf (or shelves) of a filing cabinet of this invention. Device for digitally and electrically opening a shelf or shelves of a filing cabinet according to this invention comprises an L- shaped hook (15) attached on the document shelf (2), an axis (12) where supporting wheels (13) are disposed on its sides to keep the axis held between rear side of the document shelf (2) in which the documents are stored and rear wall of the filing cabinet (1) , and on the end of the axis there is disposed a wheel (14) which will move inside or hooked by the hook (15) when the document shelf (2) is in locking position and released from the hook (15) when the document shelf (2) is in opening position, a copper wire winding (10) which will generate magnetic field following the flowing of electric current into it so as to attract axis (12) upward and in turn to release automatically the wheel (14) from hook (15) to make document shelf (2) be in position to open the document shelf (2) .

Mechanism of operation of the device for digitally and electrically opening a shelf or shelves of a filing cabinet according to this invention is as follows . After indentifying the document user through key word keyword, user's identification number (UIN) or finger print device (7) in the operation of registration system in computer (6) and the operation of inputting data of the document sought, computer (6) will give document searching result by sending instruction to minicomputer or PLC (8) disposed above each filing document t(l) which is in the condition of waiting for instruction (lamp 5 flares) and sending it to device for digitally and electrically opening a shelf or shelves of a filing cabinet according to this invention. The instruction is in the form of flowing electric current into copper wire winding (10) so as to generate magnetic field which will attract axis 12 with wheel (14) on it end upward causing wheel (14) get released from hook (15) . Spring (16) attached on the rear wall of document shelf (2) of the filing cabinet (1) will push automatically document shelf (2) using hook (15) behind document shelf (2) that has been released from wheel (14) of axis (12) (device of this invention is in condition of opening the shelf) . Another instruction from the controlling computer is the instruction to light the lam (3) and generate the audio of the alarm (4) disposed on the document shelf (2) where the document sought lies. Instructions from controlling computer (6) are transmitted only into minicomputer or PLC (8) with the document sought is in document shelf (2) of the filing document (1) . Meanwhile minicomputer or PLC (8) of another filing cabinet (1) keeps being instructed to lock document shelf on the device for digitally and electrically opening a shelf or shelves of a filing cabinet according to this invention.

In the condition to lock the document shelf, wheel (14) at the end of the axis (12) keeps getting hooked on the L- shaped hook (15) as copper wire winding (10) does not receive electric current from minicomputer or PLC (8) to lift axis (12) upward. At the same time spring (16) below the hook keeps being in the condition of pushing backward the wall of the document shelf (2) .

After the user takes or opens document he or she seeks, the user can close the document shelf (2) opening to the filing cabinet (1) . Wheel (14) at the end of the axis (12) which was formerly attracted upward by magnetic field, will move down following the L-shaped hook (15) until the beginning of the hook (15) . Because of this, wheel (14) will get hooked on hook (15) (in condition of locking the document shelf) whilst spring (16) pushes rear wall of the document shelf (2) .
