Title:
DEVICE FOR DIRECTLY GENERATING ELECTRICAL ENERGY FROM THERMAL ENERGY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/092394
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device (1) as per figure 1 for directly generating electrical energy from thermal energy, comprising at least one source of thermal energy (2), at least one heat pipe (3.1), at least one thermoelectric element (4), and at least one heat-dissipating device (5), wherein the heat pipe (3.1) is in thermally conductive contact with the source of thermal energy (2) at one end (3.1.1) of the heat pipe and is in electrically insulating, thermally conductive contact with the hot side (4.1) of the thermoelectric element (4) at the other end (3.1.2) of the heat pipe, and wherein the cold side (4.2) of the thermoelectric element (4) opposite the hot side (4.1) is in electrically insulating, thermally conductive contact (5.1) with the heat-dissipating device (5). The invention further relates to a method for directly generating electrical energy from thermal energy.
