Abstract:
A device (10) for discriminating and counting banknotes is equipped with a housing (13) having a first side face and a second side face opposed to the first side face, a placing section (14) which is provided to the first side face of the housing (13), on which banknotes are placed, and from which the placed banknotes are advanced into the housing (13) on a one-by-one basis, a discriminating and counting section (24) provided in the housing (13) and discriminating and counting the banknotes advanced from the placing section (14) into the housing (13), and a stacking section (26) which is provided to the second side face and into which the banknotes discriminated and counted by the discriminating and counting section (24) are sent and stacked.
