Description:
TITLE

DEVICE FOR DISPENSING WIPES

TECHNICAL FIELD

The invention relates to a device to dispense moist or dry wipes, according to the choice of the user.

BACKGROUND

One of the main pieces of equipment in the field of personal hygiene and toiletries is dry paper and damp paper, or a moist or dry wipe that enable the user to clean himself by wiping with a damp or dry cloth. Damp cloths are often used to clean parts of the human body, for people such as a baby, child or adult. For a more hygienic and effective cleaning process, the user starts with a moist wipe or damp paper towel, and then uses a disposable dry paper or cloth.

The problem is that there are not usually both of the abovementioned types of paper or wipes, due to a lack of space, storage problems, and the problem of moist papers or wipes quickly drying out in normal environmental conditions.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a solution to the abovementioned problems.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Figure 1 shows an isometric sketch of the device to dispense moist or dry wipes, according to the user's preference (10) - as it is dispensing a dry wipe.

This diagram shows that the device has a selection lever (12) with the handle in the raised position (upwards). When the lever is raised, dry wipes (14) are dispensed. The dry wipe (14) can be seen emerging from the slot (16). A groove (18) can also be seen at the bottom of the slot for the wipes to exit. This functions as the location of a knife to cut the wipes. The cutting knife is not seen from the outside, since it has a guard (20) that protects the user's fingers against injury.

In addition, towards the bottom of the device, a clear window (22) is shown, through which the height of the liquid (24) in the device can be seen. Figure 2 shows an isometric sketch of the device to dispense moist or dry wipes, according to the user's preference (10) - as it is dispensing a moist wipe.

This diagram shows that the selection lever (12) in the lowered position. In this state, a moist wipe (14a) is dispensed. The moist wipe (14) can be seen protruding from the slot (16).

Figure 3 shows a two dimensional sketch of the device to dispense moist or dry wipes, according to the user's preference (10) - as it is dispensing a dry wipe.

This diagram shows the interior workings of the device.

The bottom of the device includes a container (100) that contains liquid (24). It can be filled through a funnel (34) with a lid (36). Inside the liquid-filled container (100), there is a cylinder (28) that revolves around a central axle (28a), and absorbs the liquid.

The top section of the device includes a roll of paper (14) that is held on a holder (40). It has a small cogwheel (42) on its end, and rotates around an axle (42a) that is connected to the main body of the device.

The end of the paper (14) is threaded out of the device through the slot (16). The paper is threaded under a roller (30) after passing over a stopper (32) (to keep the paper under tension, preventing it from falling and touching the damp cylinder).

As the paper is pulled, the holder (40) with the small cogwheel (42) turns, which turns the large cogwheel (44) on its axle (44b). A knob sticks out (44a) into the slot (46) that can move on an axle (46b). Within the slot (46a) of the arm (46) there is another knob (52a) that is attached to a bar (52) that moves using guides (54). The cutting blade (56) has a shield to protect the user from injury (20).

The device includes a selection lever (12) that allows the user to choose whether he wants to dispense a moist wipe or a dry wipe by raising or lowering the handle. The handle (12) is connected to an axle (12b) via an arm (12a). This arm (12a) includes a cylinder (26) that rotates on an axle (26a) that is connected to the arm (12a).

The arm is connected to a spring (38) that keeps it under pressure. On its second side, the spring is connected to an axle (38a) that is also connected to the main body of the device. In this way, the lever remains in its chosen position (as long as downwards pressure is not applied to the lever).

This diagram also shows that the device has a door at the back (48) for access to allow the user to refill the liquid and change the cylinders. The door moves on a hinge (48a), and can be closed using a rotating knob (50) with a locking tab (52).

Figure 4 shows a two dimensional sketch of the device to dispense moist or dry wipes, according to the user's preference (10) - as it is dispensing a moist wipe.

This diagram shows that the lever (12) is in the lowered position, and this has therefore also lowered the arm (12a), moving it around its axle. (l2b).The arm (12a) is connected to a roller (26) that pushes the paper (14) against the roller (28) that has absorbed the liquid (24).

The arm (12a) is connected to a spring (38) that keeps it under pressure. The other side of the spring is connected to an axle (38a) that is connected to the main body of the device. This keeps the lever in its selected position (as long as upwards pressure is not applied to the lever).

In this situation, as the paper is pulled, it becomes moist, since it passes right next to the moist roller (28). By pulling the end of the paper, the roll of paper (14) rotates. The roll of paper (14) is held by a holder (40) and is connected to a small cogwheel (42) that turns on the same axle (42a). It is connected to the main body of the device. The end of the paper (14) is pulled out the device through a slot (16). As it is pulled out the device, the paper passes under a cylinder (30) after passing over a stopper (32). Pulling the paper effectively turns the first cogwheel (42) in one direction (a), which turns the second cogwheel (44) in its appropriate direction (b). The large cogwheel (44) has a protruding knob (44a) that sits in the slot (46a) of the arm (46) that moves on its axle (46b). When the cogwheel (44) is rotated in its correct direction (b) the knob lowers downwards, which pushes the arm (46) that moves downwards on its axle (46b). This arm (46) then pushes the knob (52a) that is connected to a rod (52) downwards on its guides (54). This lowers the cutting blade (56), which then cuts the paper (14) at the end of the process, and it continues so forth.

Further information:

The present invention relates to a device to dispense dry or moist wipes, according to the user's choice. It includes a roll of dry paper wipes that can come out the device via a moist roller and a pressure wheel that is connected to a lever that allows the abovementioned moist wipe to be dispensed. Moving the lever into the raised position bypasses the moist roller, enabling a dry paper towel to be dispensed. As the paper wipe is pulled, it is connected to a mechanism that rotates a cogwheel that lowers an arm that is connected to a cutting knife that cuts the roll of paper into individual wipes. The knife rises after each pull of the paper roll.

The device includes a liquid, e.g. water, alcohol diluted with water, etc. that can be seen through a clear opening. As the user pulls the roll of paper, the roller that is immersed in the liquid turns due to pressure that is created by the wipes, which rotates the immersed roller. The pressure on the roller squeezes out excess fluid, causing the paper wipe to be moistened by an appropriate amount and does not cause the wipe to be soaked.

The roll of paper is tightened and held mechanically to the device using a holder. The holder is mechanically connected to a moving cogwheel that urns a second cogwheel, which is connected to an operation unit with a hinge and two knobs. The arm is connected to a cutting knife that cuts the paper into individual wipes as required. When the user wants to dispense a dry wipe, he raises the lever that is connected to the pressure roller and then the paper does not touch the roller that is immersed in the liquid. This causes the paper to come out dry when the paper is cut.

When choosing to dispense an individual moist wipe in place of a dry wipe, the user lowers the lever that is connected to the pressure wheel downwards, and the device dispenses a single wet wipe. The device can be refilled with a new roll of paper when the old roll of paper is finished.

The water or other liquid in the tank can be refilled using a vessel that contains liquid, e.g. a bottle.

After the wipe has been cut, another wipe can be dispensed if the user pulls the new end of the roll of paper with his fingers. In Summary:

A device to dispense dry or moist wipes according to the user's choice that includes a roll of dry paper wipes that can pass by a damp roller that turns as the roll of paper wipes is pulled, and that is squeezed by a pressure wheel that is connected to a lever, moistening the wipe. The lever allows the user to have the option of dispensing the abovementioned moist wipe, a dry wipe can be dispensed by raising or moving the lever. When the end of the roll of paper is pulled, the roller that is attached to the device turns the cogwheel-powered roller mechanism that lowers an arm that is connected to a cutting knife and cuts the paper into individual wipes. After each cut, the knife rises until the paper is pulled once again.
