Abstract:
A concrete mixer drum (1) is driven by a hydraulic motor (81). A directional control
valve (20) has a function of adjustment of the flow cross sectional area of pressurized
hydraulic oil supplied from a variable displacement hydraulic pump (10) to the
hydraulic motor (81). The variable displacement hydraulic pump (10) is driven
together with a charge pump (11) by an internal combustion engine (60). When
the discharge pressure of the charge pump (11) is low, the directional control
valve (20) maintains a small flow cross sectional area to rotate the mixer drum
(1) at low speed, minimizing fuel consumption of the engine (60). When the discharge
pressure of the charge pump (11) becomes high, the directional control valve
(20) increases the flow cross sectional area to cause the mixer drum (1) to rotate
at a rated speed.
