Abstract:
This device comprises an air introducing passage for passing an air stream obliquely from the front upwardly toward the back in a smooth manner, and a reverse lift in the form of a thin plate, which passage and reverse lift member are provided in the vicinity of a front bumper or a headlight, at the periphery of a rear bumper or an air dam skirt or on the back of a radiator grille, while retaining substantially the same profile as an ordinary passenger vehicle. The branching point of the air stream flowing over both the upper and lower surfaces of the vehicle is deflected downward at the front of the vehicle by the air introducing passage to thereby produce a reverse lift so as to strengthen the ground contact property of the front wheels. In addition, the air stream at the bottom of the vehicle is directed obliquely upward toward the rear of the vehicle to thereby strengthen the ground contact property of the rear wheels. Both side walls of the air introducing passage are formed of elastic soft material to act also as a shock absorbing space so as to greatly enhance buffering performance.
