Abstract:
A first aspect of the present invention is an exhaust-temperature-estimating device for estimating the temperature of gas expelled from an internal combustion engine (1) into an exhaust manifold (5), wherein the temperature of the exhaust gas in the exhaust manifold (5) is estimated on the basis of the adiabatic-compression-derived rise in the temperature of gas drawn into an intake manifold (4) until the gas is expelled to the exhaust manifold (5), and the quantity-of-heat-derived rise in temperature obtained by dividing the dilution gas flow of exhaust gas in the exhaust manifold (5) into the quantity of heat introduced into a cylinder (2a-2f) but lost in the exhaust gas.
