The disclosed estimating device, which reads the detected temperature of a cell of a battery in a power tool and estimates the internal temperature of a battery from said detected temperature, is provided with: a initial value setting means that reads the aforementioned detected temperature when starting the charging/discharging of the battery and sets said detected temperature as an initial value; and a temperature-rise-amount calculation means that calculates the amount of temperature rise of the cell of the battery from the initial value set by the aforementioned initial value setting means and the latest value of the aforementioned detected temperature. The amount of temperature rise is output as an estimated value indicating the internal temperature of the aforementioned battery.
