Description DEVICE FOR FORMING BRICK
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to a device for forming brick and more particularly, to a device for forming brick in which the upper mold could be easily separated from the brick during the forming process.
[2]
Background Art
[3] The method to form a brick is known in which the forming material such as loess is poured into the lower mold and the upper and lower molds are closed by hydraulic cylinders to form a brick.
[4] Meanwhile, in order to provide a brick with easy construction and high strength, the inventor of the present invention suggested a loess brick as shown in FIG. 13 having recess 3 on the bottom surface and projections 2 on the top surface to be engaged with the recess 3, and bore 4(Korean patent No. 674504).
[5] The working surface of the upper mold to form the above brick is provided with recesses to form the projections 2 of the brick. But during the forming process the forming material such as loess may be filled and pressed or remained in the recess of the upper mold. Therefore, when the upper mold is separated, the upper mold may not be clearly or smoothly separated from the forming brick at the point of the projection, which will result in damage of the projections 2.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[34] A preferred embodiment of the invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. Like reference numerals denote like elements through the following embodiments.
[35] As shown in the drawings, the device for forming brick includes a material feeder
100 horizontally movable on the frame 10, a hopper 30 disposed above the material feeder 100 and a mold frame 200 on the front side of the material feeder 100. A guide support 20 is provided on the front side of the mold frame 200. And the lower mold 300 and the upper mold 400 are vertically movably provided on the lower side and upper side of the mold frame 200.
[36] The material feeder 120 has a shape of rectangular container with the top and the bottom surfaces opened, and it receives the material such as loess dropped from the hopper 30 and is moved by the cylinder 101 to pour it into the mold frame 200. A cover plate 110 is provided at the rear side of the material feeder 100 and it can block the lower opening of the hopper 30 to prevent the materials from dropping.
[37] As the material in the material feeder 100 is filled into the mold frame 200, the material feeder 100 is retreated, and at the same time, the cover plate 100 is retreated accordingly, then the lower opening of the hopper 30 is opened and the material feeder 100 is located below the hopper 30 so that the material is dropped into the material feeder 100.
[38] If the mold frame 200 is filled with the material such as loess, the film covering means 500 disposed at one side of the mold frame 200 picks up a sheet of film from the stack of the film and moves above the mold frame 200 and drops the film on the surface of the forming brick 1. The film covering means 500 comprises of feeding bar 520 mounted on one side of the frame 10 and a vacuum head 510 provided on the bottom of the feeding bar 520. Then the upper and lower molds 300, 400 are closed by the hydraulic cylinders 301, 401 to form the brick, and the upper surface of the brick 1 may not directly contact the lower surface of the upper mold 400 because the film sheet 5 is inserted between them.
[39] An opening forming bar 310 is provided in the mold frame 200, and the lower mold
300 moves up and down along the opening forming bar 310, so the vertical bore 4 may be formed on the brick 1. The upper mold 400 is provided above the mold frame 200 and vertically moved by the cylinder 401 and guided by the guide rod 402. The lower mold 300 and the upper mold 400 are replaceable to form different kind brick 1. In addition, an air hole may be form in the upper mold to vent the air during the closing the molds 300, 400.
[40] After closing the molds and the upper mold 400 is lifted, the forming material such
as loess would not be attached on the bottom surface of the upper mold 400 because of the film 5, and the upper mold 400 could be clearly and smoothly separated from the brick 1 and projection 2 on the top surface of the brick 1 would not be damaged or broken.
[41] After the upper mold 400 is lifted and the lower mold 301 is further lifted by the cylinder 301, the formed brick 1 is exposed on the surface of the frame 10. Then the push plate 120 disposed on the front of the material feeder 200 may push the brick 1 toward the guide support 20. The shape of the push plate 120 is complementary to the side surface of the brick 1 so that the brick 1 could be moved smoothly without damage. If the film 5 is removed from the brick 1 on the guide support 20, good shaped brick 1 with the undamaged projection 2 could be obtained.
[42] If the push plate 120 pushes the brick 1 on the lower mold 300 toward the guide support 20, then the material feeder 100 is located above the lower mold 300, and as the lower mold 300 moves downwardly, the material such as loess in the material feeder will be poured into the mold frame 200. If the material is filled completely in the mold frame 200, then the material feeder 100 may be retreated, and the film covering means will be actuated to place the film 5 above the mold frame 200, and the lower mold 300 and upper mold 400 will be closed to compress the material to form a brick. Preferably, the film 5 is made of plastic film, but it can be made of paper or other material so long as the upper mold 400 could be clearly separated from the brick 1.
