The invention relates to a device (1) for forming a protected region within a body of water, comprising a wall (2) and an inner region (4) delimited from the body of water by means of the wall (2), wherein the wall (2) is formed from a plurality of interconnected hollow elements (3) which are arranged in a stacked construction. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for constructing a device (1) to form a protected region within a body of water.
