Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for greasing fastening bolts, especially those of the tyres of vehicles, construction machines and trailers, while the tyre is removed, for example, during a change of tyres. The device comprises a container (2) having a mouth (1), inside which is fitted an insert (3) made of porous material which is impregnated with greasing or protective agent (4), and in which insert are formed one or more holes (5) for the bolt to be greased or protected. The device is made into a disposable product, in which the greasing/protective agent (4) suffices for greasing the fastening bolts of one or more tyres. The mouth (1) of the container (2) is closed with a film (6), whereby in order to grease the bolt, the bolt (14) may be inserted into the hole (5) by pressing the bolt through the film (6).

Claims
1. A device for greasing fastening bolts, especially those of the tyres of vehicles, construction machines and trailers, while the tyre is removed, for example, during a change of tyres, which device comprises a container (2) having a mouth (1), inside which is fitted an insert (3) made of porous material which is impregnated with greasing or protective agent (4), and in which insert (3) are formed one or more holes (5) for the bolt to be greased or protected, characterised in that the device is made into a disposable product, in which the greasing or protective agent (4) suffices for greasing the fastening bolts of one or more tyres; and that the mouth (1) of the container (2) is closed with a film (6), whereby in order to grease the bolt, the bolt (14) can be inserted in the hole (5) by pressing the bolt through the film (6).
2. A device as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the film (6) is attached by means of ultrasonic sealing to the area surrounding the mouth (1) of the container (2).
3. A device as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the device comprises one or more containers (2) fixed to a sheetlike member (8).
4. A device as claimed in claim 3, characterised in that the sheetlike member (8) is provided with an adhesive label (13), on which is printed product information (9), and with a hole (10) for hanging.
5. A device as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the insert (3) is made of cellular plastic.
6. A device as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the device comprises a greasing stick (12).
7. A device as claimed in any of the above claims, characterised in that the greasing/protective agent is tar or a tarbased substance.
8. A device as claimed in any of the above claims, characterised in that the film (6) is arranged to act as a clamping means to prevent the exit of the insert when the bolt is removed from the container.
9. A method for greasing fastening bolts, especially those of the tyres of vehicles, construction machines and trailers, while the tyre is removed, for example, during a change of tyres, which method uses a device comprising a container (2) having a mouth, (1) inside which is fitted an insert (3) made of porous material which is impregnated with greasing or protective agent (4), and in which insert (3) are formed one or more holes (5) for the bolt to be greased or protected, characterised in that the device used in the method is made into a disposable product, in which the greasing or protective agent (4) suffices for greasing the fastening bolts of one or more tyres; and that the mouth (1) of the container (2) is closed with a film (6), whereby in order to grease the bolt (14), the bolt (14) is pressed through the film (6) into the hole (5) for bringing the bolt into contact with the insert (3).
Description:
Device for greasing fastening bolts The present invention relates to a device for greasing fastening bolts, especially those of the tyres of vehicles, construction machines and trailers, while the tyre is removed, for example, during a change of tyres, which device comprises a container having a mouth, inside which is fitted an insert made of porous material which is impregnated with greasing or protective agent, and in which insert are formed one or more holes for the bolt to be greased or protected.

It is advisable to grease the above-mentioned bolts from time to time. This ensures that, if necessary, the tyre can also be removed with lightweight tools, for example, the vehicle's own tools, without having to resort to long lances or heavy-duty pneumatic tools.

In order to carry out the greasing as simply and easily as possible, the device according to the invention is characterised in that the device is made into a disposable product, in which the greasing or protective agent suffices for greasing the fastening bolts of one or more tyres; and that the mouth of the container is closed with a film, whereby in order to grease the bolt, the bolt can be inserted in the hole by pressing the bolt through the film. The lubricant is preferably tar or a tar-based substance.

Further preferable developments of the invention are disclosed in the dependent claims.

The invention is described in greater detail in the following, with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which: Figure 1 shows the device according to the invention in section.

Figure 1 shows a diagrammatic section of a device for greasing fastening bolts, especially those of the tyres of vehicles, construction machines and trailers, while the tyre is removed, for example, during a change of tyres.

The device comprises a container 2 having a mouth 1, inside which is fitted an insert 3 made of porous material, for example, cellular plastic. The insert 3 is impregnated with greasing or protective agent 4. Moreover, in the insert 3 are formed one or more holes 5 for the bolt to be greased or protected.

The hole 5 preferably extends through the insert 3. The dimensioning of the hole 5 diameter is not crucial. The diameter of the hole 5 may be slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the bolt. On the other hand, the diameter of the bolt 5 may also be distinctly larger than the outer diameter of the bolt.

The device is preferably made into a disposable product, wherein the mouth 1 of the container 2 is closed with a film 6, which in the embodiment of fig. 1 is attached to the flange 7 surrounding the mouth 1 of the container 2 preferably by means of ultrasonic sealing. Gluing may also be used for the attachment. In the container thus closed is a sufficient amount of greasing or protective agent 4 for greasing the bolts of one or more tyres.

A part of the film 6 may extend outside the flange 7, whereby the said part forms a tear strip 11 which can be gripped to remove the film 6. The tear strip 11 may also be provided with a hole for hanging 10. The device is preferably used by making a hole in the film 6, for example, by pressing with the fastening bolt, whereby the end

part of the film 6, which is attached to the flange 7, keeps the insert inside the container, thus preventing it from coming out with the bolt when the bolt is removed from the container.

The device according to the invention may obviously also be used several times by impregnating the insert 3 of porous material in the container 2 with a suitable amount of greasing or protective agent 4 when necessary.

To grease the bolt, the bolt is pushed or screwed through a hole made in the film 6 into the hole 5 in the insert 3, whereupon greasing or protective agent 4 spreads onto the surface of the bolt from the insert 3. Bolts fixed to the shaft of a vehicle, on the other hand, are greased in such a way that the device according to the invention is pushed and/or screwed around the bolt through a hole made in the film 6.

If necessary, the bolt may be moved transversely with respect to the hole, whereby the greasing agent will spread better onto the surface of the bolt.

Figures 4 and 5 show a solution according to another embodiment of the invention, where one or more containers 2 are fixed to a sheet-like member 8. The mouth 1 of each container 2 is preferably closed with a separate film 6 attached to the outer surface of the member 8 surrounding the mouth 1, preferably by ultrasonic sealing.

On the outer surface of the sheet-like member 8 is preferably placed an adhesive label 13 containing product information 9 and covering the films 6. In the embodiment according to Figure 6, the adhesive label 13 extends, at one end 8a of the sheet-like member 8, over the edge of the member, to the lower surface. The part of the adhesive label extending to the lower surface is marked with reference numeral 13a. The sheet-like member 8 may also be provided with a hole 10 for hanging, for example, on a selling rack. Reference numeral 12 further indicates a greasing stick, for example a plastic stick, onto which greasing agent may be taken from the container 2 and taken by means of the stick to an object where the amount of greasing agent required is very small. The device can be used for as long as there is greasing or protective agent 4 in the insert 3 inside it, which is preferably made of cellular plastic. Figure 6 shows a screw 14 to be greased when pushed into the container 2 through the adhesive label 13 and the film 6, in which case greasing will preferably take place by screwing the container 2 and the bolt 14 with respect to each other.
