A device for heat-sterilizing an agricultural/horticultural crop cutter through the combustion of a liquefied gas, wherein the utilization efficiency of energy obtained from the liquefied gas in a gas cartridge is increased to thereby ensure the heat-sterilization effect and simplify the structure of the device. From a liquefied gas cartridge (4, 14) integrated in a holder (2, 12), a mixed gas is introduced into a metal tubule (8, 18) that serves as a gas channel provided in a groove formed in a blade edge (3, 13). This gas channel (8, 18) is provided with an electric heater wire (9, 19) and a combustion catalyst (10, 20). By heating the mixed gas with the electric heater wire (9, 19), the temperature of the combustion catalyst (10, 20) is elevated to the reaction initiation temperature of the catalytic combustion and thus the blade edge (3, 13) is heat-sterilized. By directly heating the blade edge in the catalytic combustion part, the heat transfer effect is improved. By heating the mixed gas with the electric heater wire and thus preheating the catalyst placed in the channel to the combustion initiation temperature, the combustion of the catalyst surely occurs and the blade edge can be constantly maintained in the heat-sterilized state.
