Abstract:
Provided are: a device for inactivating bacteria or viruses which can efficiently inactivate bacteria or viruses present in a space while securing safety for humans or animals; and a treatment method for inactivating bacteria or viruses. The device is provided with: a light source part for emitting ultraviolet light included within a range of a peak wavelength of 190 nm to 240 nm (exclusive of 240); and a control part for controlling the light source part so as to perform a main operation mode including a first lighting operation and a second lighting operation for emitting ultraviolet light having light intensity lower than the first lighting operation.
