Abstract:

Claims:
CLAIMS

1. A device for the installation and wiring of electrical units, comprising a box having a front lip and configured to be recessed in a wall, and a cover plate that can be applied to the outside of said wall at said box; said device being characterized in that it comprises a plate support arranged in said plate; said plate support comprising a recessed portion adapted to receive and completely contain a protruding part of said front lip of said box.

2. The device, according to claim 1 , characterized in that said recessed portion of said plate support completely accommodates said front lip of said box; said plate incorporating said plate support and resting perfectly against the outer surface of said wall.

DEVICE FOR INSTALLING AND WIRING ELECTRICAL UNITS

The present invention relates to a device for installing and wiring electrical appliances.

In greater detail, the present invention relates to a device that allows the fitting of a junction box in a recessed manner, especially in hollow walls, drywalls, etc.

As is known, the ever-increasing needs for flexibility, economy and rapidity of execution are causing the progressive increase of building constructions that use lightweight-type walls, for example made of plasterboard, instead of walls of the traditional type.

In fact, lightweight walls allow to perform subsequent interventions simply and inexpensively, modifying the internal configuration of the rooms as a function of the new needs of their users.

The conventional assembly constituted by a plate and wall box, designed for a masonry wall, may not be suitable for fitting in a lightweight wall, such as a drywall.

The problem arises in particular in the case of structured plates, i.e., plates equipped with functional systems that increase their thickness.

In order to fit a box in a lightweight wall, the box is usually provided with a perimetric lip which protrudes externally on the wall and does not allow an adequate placement of the cover plate adjacent to the wall.

This causes an aesthetic and also functional problem, since the distance between the plate and the wall allows dust and debris to enter.

EP3886280A1 discloses an electrical installation system having a wall box with a tubular base body for housing an insert of the electrical installation; the tubular base body is closed at its first end with a bottom wall and has a second end provided with a fastening lug molded into the base body. The lug protrudes radially outwards. The base body has two fixing housings opposite in the circumference, a mounting frame with first openings to pass respectively a fixing element cooperating with one of the fixing housings, and a recess for housing the clamping lug. The holding frame has four recesses which correspond to the position and size of four tabs on the hollow wall socket. The aim of the present invention is to provide a device for installing and wiring electrical units that overcomes the drawbacks of the cited background art.

Within the scope of this aim, an object of the invention is to provide a device that allows to associate a plate with the box by making the plate adhere to the wall, whatever the nature of the wall.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a device which, by virtue of its particular constructive characteristics, is capable of giving the greatest assurances of reliability and safety in use.

This aim, these objects and others which will become better apparent hereinafter are achieved by a device for installing and wiring electrical units, including a box having a front lip and configured to be recessed in a wall, and a plate that can be applied to the outside of the wall at the box; the device being characterized in that it includes a plate support arranged in the plate; the plate support including a recessed portion adapted to receive and completely contain a protruding part of the front lip of the box.

Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become better apparent from the description of preferred, but not exclusive, embodiments of the invention, illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings, wherein:

Figure 1 is a partially exploded and sectional side view of the device according to the invention;

Figure 2 is a rear perspective view of the device without the box;

Figure 3 is a rear perspective view of the device in the installed condition;

Figure 4 is a perspective view of the cover plate of the device according to the present invention, shown in the installed condition;

Figure 5 is a side view, enlarged with respect to Figure 1 , of a detail of the device according to the invention;

Figure 6 is a partial exploded view of the device according to the invention;

Figure 7 is a sectional side view of the entire assembly assembled in conditions for use;

Figure 8 is another sectional side view of the entire assembly assembled in conditions for use.

With reference to the cited figures, the device according to the invention, generally designated by the reference numeral 1 , includes a box 2, configured to be recessed into a wall 100, and a plate 3 which can be applied to the outside of the wall 100 at the box 2 by means of a plate support 4.

According to the present invention, the plate support 4 includes a recessed portion 41 adapted to receive and completely contain the protruding part of the front lip 21 of the box 2.

As can be seen more clearly in Figures 5, 7 and 8, the recessed portion 41 of the plate support 4 completely accommodates the front lip 21 of the box 2, allowing the plate 3, which incorporates the plate support 4, to rest perfectly against the outer surface of the wall 100.

In practice it has been found that the invention achieves the intended aim and objects, providing a device for installing and wiring electrical units which allows to associate a plate with the box, making the plate adhere to the wall, whatever the nature of the wall.

The present invention provides a system for compensating for the thickness of the edge of boxes for lightweight walls, allowing perfect plate-wall contact.

Contrary to prior art systems, such as the one disclosed in EP3886280 which shows four protruding tabs engaging four recesses formed in the holding frame, the plate support 4 of the present invention has a continuous notch or sunken edge, the recessed portion 41 , which receives and completely contains the whole front lip 21 of the box 2. The system according to the present invention guarantees an easier assembling and a better coupling of the components.

The materials used, as well as the dimensions, may be any according to the requirements and the state of the art.
