Title:
DEVICE FOR INVERTED HIDDEN-ARC WELDING
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1989/011947
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A device for inverted hidden-arc welding comprises a driven trolley (26) on which is mounted a vertical support with a carriage (22). A cantilever (21) is mounted on the carriage (22) and is provided with a forming arrangement (16) mounted on its end with the possibility of swinging in its longitudinal and transverse planes. The device further comprises a bunker (1) with a flux (2), inside which are mounted a nozzle (13) for a consumable electrode (14), a bowl (3) located in the upper part of the bunker (1), through which passes the end of the nozzle (13), and a means for feeding and pressing the flux (2). The bunker (1) is secured on an axle (17) which is located on the front wall (18) of the forming arrangement (16) parallel to its transverse axis and coincides with the upper end face of the rear wall (19) of the bowl (3) situated in the vicinity of the nozzle (13). Such location of the axle (17) for securing the bunker (1) and the forming arrangement (16) provides for the possibility of swinging the bowl (3) in the transverse direction and for stabilization of the preset pressure of the flux (2) within the welding zone. The invention may be used to weld longitudinal and turning annular joints.
