Abstract:
It is desirable that shock absorbing legs of motorcycles or motor vehicles have an adjustable length. It is known to provide a bore (11) with an inner thread (12) in an end section (16) of the shock absorbing leg (2) and to arrange a peg (21) with an outer thread (22) that corresponds to the inner thread (12) on an axle-guiding part (1). Usually, a locking element (30) is screwed on the outer thread (22) of the peg and tightened against the end section (16). The disadvantage of this arrangement is the fact that the outer thread (22), which plays a decisive role in adjustment and safety, can get dirty. Furthermore, the user does not know whether the peg (21) is sufficiently screwed into the bore (11). It is proposed to provide on the end section (16) a safety outer thread (13) and to size and screw the locking element (30) on the safety outer thread (13) in such a way that the locking element (30) may be tightened against the part (1) carrying the peg (21) with both parts abutting on each other.
