Abstract:
A method for controlling a battery according to an embodiment of the present invention is a method for controlling a battery performed by a BMS, wherein the method may comprise the steps of: when there is no request related to use of a battery system from a higher-level system for a predetermined period of time, performing a procedure for switching the state of a battery pack to a standby mode, which is a low-power state; when a battery system activation request is received from the higher-level system during performance of a plurality of operations included in the procedure for switching to the standby mode, exiting the procedure for switching to the standby mode in response to the corresponding request; and transitioning the state of the battery pack to a normal state.
